Since 2001, the Arvada Wheat Ridge Service Ambassadors for Youth (AWRSAY) has recognized youth who have overcome a major life obstacle or adversity.

AWRSAY seeks to acknowledge these deserving youth by providing recognition to all and, in the case of high school seniors, scholarship opportunities to Red Rocks Community College.

We hope that through community encouragement, support and recognition, Arvada and Wheat Ridge youth will grow to be confident members and leaders in our communities.

Please welcome Lorie Gillis - Arvada's City Manager.  She will be giving a hometown Update.

Centrally located in Candelas, the station will provide excellent access and response times to the entire development. When it opens, the fire station will be staffed with an advanced life support fire engine and cross-staffed with a brush truck specifically equipped to respond to wildfires in the wildland urban interface.

Additionally, the station was built with the capacity to serve this community for many years into the future. There is sufficient space in the apparatus bays to accommodate future needs for additional fire apparatus and an ambulance as the demand for services increases. 

The exterior of the station was designed to align with the City of Arvada’s standard design for the Candelas area, while the internal features of the building were designed to serve the many needs of a modern fire department. Those needs included training features designed into the apparatus bay, a 1,127-square-foot gym to promote fitness, eight individual bunk rooms, and numerous features to support cancer prevention, such as a decontamination corridor.

Aligned with our desire to preserve the environment, the new station is also equipped with a rooftop solar system to reduce our carbon footprint and its landscape includes natural and wild grass instead of a manicured lawn to reduce water consumption.

Most importantly, the location of the new fire station is based on data used to determine how we can best fulfill our vision to provide exceptional public safety services to our community. Our data modeling determined that response times to 911 calls from the new fire station will significantly improve to not only Candelas, but also to the neighborhoods of Whisper Creek and Five Parks.

5 p.m. – Happy hour, featuring Stem Ciders, Howdy Beer and plenty of food

Tickets: $60 

Registration includes access to the Watershed Summit, happy hour, refreshments and entrance to Denver Botanic Gardens on June 22.

Add-on options:

• Guided tour of water-wise gardens by Denver Botanic Gardens horticulturists: $10 (75 spots available)
• Eat within your watershed: Locally sourced lunch prepared by SAME Café: $20 (25 spots available)

This event is produced through a collaborative partnership between the One World One Water Center (a joint initiative of Metropolitan State University of Denver and Denver Botanic Gardens), Aurora Water, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, Denver Water and Resource Central.

In an effort to be as sustainable as possible, please bring your own water bottle and/or cup.

Supporting AOT helps support our community partners and the great services they provide in our community! All proceeds from this event will go to our community partners. 

P.E.O. is a philanthropic organization where women CELEBRATE the advancement of women; EDUCATE women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and MOTIVATE women to achieve their highest aspirations.

More than 70 Denver Metro and Arvada restaurants, craft breweries and non-food vendors will display their finest culinary bites, sips and offerings from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. This year’s event will include an outdoor section, with a multitude of food and drink options, live music, art vendors, and more! In addition, restaurant and bar vendors will compete for coveted prizes in their categories, voted on by attendees.

Help Arvada stay beautiful.  We are cleaning up our 'Rotary' adapted Street starting in the parking lot of Majestic View Park off of 72nd St.

Join us and bring a friend to the 3rd Tuesday Fellowship!

Join us at Food for Thought (FFT) MSU and help us pack PowerSacks for children in need. Volunteers help little ones bridge the hunger gap between the meals they receive at school and the weekend, when these meals are not available. Activities at FFT MSU take place outside, so please make sure you are dressed comfortably for both movement/lifting and the weather--layers are a good idea! Parking is available for free along the street and there is also a paid lot right across from the site. Volunteers must sign up to participate. Registration is easy: simply choose a date (or multiple dates) and job.

Food for Thought is 100% volunteer-run, so we are incredibly grateful for our volunteers--thank you!!
