More than 70 Denver Metro and Arvada restaurants, craft breweries and non-food vendors will display their finest culinary bites, sips and offerings from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. This year’s event will include an outdoor section, with a multitude of food and drink options, live music, art vendors, and more! In addition, restaurant and bar vendors will compete for coveted prizes in their categories, voted on by attendees.

We are a food rescue program.  We receive donated food from a number of sources each week.  Through the help and efforts of our wonderful volunteers, we are able to sort, arrange and open the food pantry up to close to 400 families each week at no cost to them.  We are open to patrons Tuesdays from 4:15 - 6pm inside Clear Creek Church in Wheat Ridge.  Come visit us!

Subject: Fastest Rotary Club in District 5450

Fellow Rotarian,

The Arvada Sunrise Rotary (ASR) Club is looking for the fastest Rotary Club in District 5450.  ASR will have its 4th annual Race 4 Rotary on Sunday, August 20, 2023.  Each Rotary club in the District is invited to participate in this fun, fast-fast moving and exciting event at Podium Karting at US 36 and I-25 (www.podiumkarting.com).  A traveling trophy will be awarded to the club that is determined to be the 2023 Fastest in the District!  Also, first, second and third place plaques will be awarded to individuals based on fastest laps.

The event includes a BBQ meal buffet. In addition to the kart racing there is ping pong, pool and ax throwing. The cost is $75 for racers, $25 for spectators and a four pack of racers for $250. Details and registration are available at www.race4rotary.org.

In 2005, midway through a two-year assignment with the Peace Corps, Kristin Wegner Guilfoyle returned home to Illinois to attend a friend's wedding. That's when fate came striding down the aisle.

At the reception, Wegner Guilfoyle was seated at a table with a judge who was a member of the Rotary Club of Joliet. Wegner Guilfoyle told the judge about her work with biosand water filters in the Dominican Republic. The next week, at the judge's invitation, she spoke to the Joliet club — and, after she returned to her Peace Corps posting, club members provided her with financial and practical support, as well as some invaluable guidance about the direction of her life.

Join us at Food for Thought (FFT) MSU and help us pack PowerSacks for children in need. Volunteers help little ones bridge the hunger gap between the meals they receive at school and the weekend, when these meals are not available. Activities at FFT MSU take place outside, so please make sure you are dressed comfortably for both movement/lifting and the weather--layers are a good idea! Parking is available for free along the street and there is also a paid lot right across from the site. Volunteers must sign up to participate. Registration is easy: simply choose a date (or multiple dates) and job.
