Overview of activities:

(1) SEP 3 - 5:30 PM - Awarding Don Howard with an honorary membership in recognition of his many years of service to our club and Rotary International. The celebration will be held at Don's home (9719 Otis Dr., Westminster) at 5:30 PM. This will be a potluck with Heidi providing the main ingredients for a taco bar and the club will provide beverages. Please respond to Heidi (heidiwolle@yahoo.com) to let her know if you are coming so she can organize the food. I hope everyone can make it.

(3) SEP 6 - Hope House needs some help providing meals for children in their new child day care facility until the permitting process is completed.  This will only be through 9/6.

Jessica is organizing volunteers.  Please let her know if you can help.

(6) SEP 14 - Celebrate Community Week, Sep 8th - 14th. Street cleanup on Saturday, September 14th; Dinner and/or lunch for Hope House on Tuesday, September 10th; ideas for additional service projects are welcome

(7) SEP 20 - 5:30 PM-9 PM - Arvada Jefferson Kiwanis’ Join, Connect & Thrive at Apex Community Recreation Center, 6842 Wadsworth Blvd; Arvada Sunrise Rotary will be a sponsor.

(8) OCT 13 - 7PM - Arvada Vitality Alliance Softball Charity Event, Youth Memorial Sports Complex, 7619 Alkire St, Arvada; Sunday, October 13th, noon to 7 pm; tickets $15; final game will be Arvada Police Department vs Arvada Fire Protection District.

(9) OCT 19 - Rotary District 5450 15th Annual WASH Symposium - Speaker: William Kamkwamba -  Inspired by a science book, 13-year-old William Kamkwamba builds a wind turbine to save his Malawian village from famine. Based on a true story.

(10) Looking for Denim - 100% Cotton - any color for Sole Hope Grant. ASR is teaming up with Arvada Rotary Broomfield Crossing Rotary and Flatiron Rotary for Sole Hope Grant, Our club's commitment is $1000 Cash and $2200 in DDF - the grant should be in-between 6-7k. We are hoping to cut out 1000 pairs of shoes... 400 are already completed
