Leaders from the five service clubs in Arvada meet monthly looking for ways to coordinate their efforts to make Arvada thrive!

In the summer of 2023, while Arvada Sunrise Rotary was hosting a booth at Arvada Chamber’s Taste of Arvada, a Lake Arbor Optimist member and an Arvada Sunrise Rotary member began discussing an email that had been sent earlier that day.  Lions Clubs International, Kiwanis International, Optimists International, and Rotary International in a joint email were encouraging local clubs to work with each other in recognition of Celebrate Community Week in September.  The Optimist and Rotarian began discussing how to respond to this request.  They reached out to the five service clubs in Arvada: Arvada Jefferson Kiwanis, Arvada Lions, Arvada Rotary, Arvada Sunrise Rotary and Lake Arbor Purpose Driven Optimist.  Soon, the leaders from all five clubs began meeting and planned a street clean-up project for Celebrate Community Week.  On a Saturday in September volunteers from all the clubs picked up trash along three sections of Arvada’s heavily traveled roads.  The Arvada City Council took notice, and presented each club with a certificate of recognition at an October council meeting.

This was the catalyst for an ongoing partnership among the Arvada service clubs. Ongoing projects include a semi-annual street clean-up and preparing dinner for teen moms and their children at Hope House Colorado once a month.

Recently, the clubs worked together to update and replace the two 20+ year-old road signs identifying community organizations in Arvada.

The Arvada Service Club Leadership group continues to meet monthly seeking new ways to coordinate efforts to make Arvada thrive!
